wrexham county library feature staircase

Job Description:

  • Feature Staircase
  • Handrail & Balustrading

ACP were consulted early on to give advice and guidance regarding the staircase for Wrexham County Library. This was a really interesting job for us which tested our company in a number of ways.

Having been given the drawings by the architects office, we set about detailing the construction. The range of materials used on this project were more than usual. The stringers were made from large box section which were extremely heavy; just getting them into the site was quite a challenge. Our mini-crane proved invaluable again on this job, without it the erecting would have taken a lot longer and given us more health & safety concerns.

Materials Used

The handrail had to be warm to touch so this was made from mild steel then nylon coated. The stantions were fabricated from brushed stainless steel then toughened glass infills were wrexham library image with mini cranepositioned in between them.

The treads were made from Oak and given a nosing on site. Due to the range of materials and finishes required, planning and co-ordination was crucial in order to reach our objective.

Our suppliers performed brilliantly as usual and their professionalism attributed to the success of this project. Namely, Visual Concept, Traditional Products & A H Plant Hire.

We at ACP Engineering have the design capabilities, fabrication facilities and a skilled team of fitters ready to help should you be involved in a similar project.
