Lymedale Cross, Newcastle Under Lyme

Main Contractor: Tolent Construction

Main Contract Value: £19 Million

ACP Contract Value: £228,000

ACP Engineering (Wrexham) Ltd's role was to provide:

The contract itself spanned approximately 12 months. ACP was required to supply the majority of their services between September and November 2007. Due to the sheer volume of work, careful planning was required in order to ensure the project was completed on time and on budget.

Having worked for this main contractor on a number of other fabrication projects ACP was fully aware they would be expected to be self-organised and give a 1st class service. ACP's project manager took control of everything including liaising with the architects, structural engineers, site engineers and civil workers. This gave the main contractor one less area to worry about and subsequently they found our service extremely beneficial.

Staircase

Free standing 2 storey stair case fully enclosed. Welded concrete pan stringers and stainless balustrade and handrail. The staircase was primed and painted and the treads later carpeted.

This staircase is inside the warehouse and our UNIC 376 mini-crane was ideal for the job as we were unable to get a large crane on the new floor.

Fencing

Much of the site was not ready for the fencing until nearer the end of the contract. ACP were presented with the usual situations of underground services, access requirements by the contractors, extra fencing ordered later by the client.

There were approximately 1.5 miles of various types of fencing to erect including Paladin, Palisade & Accoustic as well as gates to build. Once again, we succeeded in our role and everything was completed with a few days to spare.
