Feature Staircase - Guernsey

Guernsey is definitely the furthest we have travelled for a job so far. It was a very interesting job for us and logistically a real challenge. Planning was the key to success here because forgetting anything would prove costly.

The job itself was a feature stair for a large mail order retailer. the staircase was built from mild steel and then powder coated. Underneath the stair was clad with brushed stainless steel panels for visual effect. The treads themselves were made from mild steel pan type treads then filled with grano on site and then tiled. The most striking feature of the stair is the stainless steel handrail and balustrade.

A number of visits were made prior to fabrication to ensure a smooth running project. Once everything was designed and signed off it was business as usual. Everything was fabricated in our workshop and then pre-built. It was then a matter of shipping it out there and fitting it. Luckily we have an excellent transport company that we use (AH Plant Hire), and Andrew took care of everything. Our team of fitters made their way out there at the weekend and the whole job went like clock work.

obs like this require thorough planning and excellent attention to detail. If you have any similar projects yuou are working on, we would be delighted to help.
